Part of the wonder of wet Autumn days! Purples and droplets shimmering in the shallow light.
Lost In Thought
Photo shoot image for potential sculpting. Edited out the background and liked the pose and artistry.

Sculpture by RS Cottrell
Epoxy Sculpt figure resting on a wooden/mirrored base covered with dyed rabbit pelt. Finished in four coats of acrylic paint with a matte finish. Photographed in a slightly dimmer display for less color variation. Placed between two candle holders to better display sculpture size also.
Interlude view 2
Sculpture. Epoxy Sculpt. Four coats of acrylic paint with a matte finish. Special attention was given to veins and musculature. Sculpted in 3 dimensions and then placed on a round wooden base with a mirrored top. In this case I covered the mirrored surface with a rabbit pelt dyed to appear like a panther skin. Figure is 12 inches in length. I remain undecided as to whether to spend the $1500 it would take to convert this piece into solid bronze.

Updates to my current ongoing work:

Minotaur Lord, an apoxy sculpt sculpture standing 16 inches in height, is now for sale on eBay. If you search under "Minotaur Lord" you should be able to locate it. I have mixed feelings about parting with this piece. I enjoyed making it. There were no molds taken of the statue, so I can never exactly reproduce this one. I might try for a similar one in the future, who knows? I simply decided it was time my powerful Lord of the Bull's find a new home that can appreciate him.

My newest bronze piece "Abiding Peace" is ready at the foundry for the final process of adding the patina and bolting the bronze pieces onto the marble base. I hope to have that done perhaps within the week, my schedule allowing. The original apoxy sculpt version of this piece can be seen in my gallery prior to me sending it off to be reproduced in solid bronze.

I want to thank the many people that have taken the time over the last months to comment on my work and to add my art to your "watch" list or 'Favorites'. This is such an honor to have my work viewed and enjoyed by others. It began as a simple way for me to have an outlet for my creative energy, but it has become a passion, and each and every one of you help fuel that passion. Thank you so much!
